Chefchaouen
We took 4.5 hrs CTM bus (which tickets can be booked online) via a lake area and mountains to Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of Morocco. Via Tina’s help (our new friend from Taiwan and met in Fes), we reserved a room next to roof terrace with city view. This prettiest town I’ve seen in Morocco has blue-washed streets and buildings to get its nickname.
Tina also took us to her favorite bakery as well as the panoramic view from the Spanish mosque at sunset. We then explored the Plaza Uta El-Hammam in the heart of Chefchaouen’s old medina. The square is lined with restaurants and little cafes where you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan dish or tea while breathing in the local atmosphere of the plaza. Nevertheless, we had dinner at a local place in a small alley with much reasonable prices.
