Hague city tour and Peace Palace

I took 2-hr walking tour to know more history oh Hague.  This “village” is directly controlled by the central government (like Washington DC), and it was the capital to balance the powers between Amsterdam and Rotterdam.  Thus was why Binnenhof House of Parliament is here. The tour also covered the status of the Royal family. The tour guide focused on architectures and history. He also mentioned that the symbol for The Hague is a stork which helped to control the seagulls from eating fishes in the market.

I later visited the Peace Palace myself. The English tour were sold out via Sunday, so I could only take the free audio guide in the visitor center. “It houses the International Court of Justice (which is the principal judicial body of the United Nations), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), The Hague Academy of International Law and the Peace Palace Library. … The Palace is filled with many gifts of the different nations who attended the Second Hague Conference as a sign of their support.”
