Day 1 in Lake District National Park
After 4-hr bus ride, I arrived Lake District National Park including some of UK largest lakes, the tallest peak, and some of UK loveliest scenery. However, rain, rain, and more rain. I walked in cold rain from the hostel in Keswick to Castlerigg Stone Circle that is sited with 38 stones aligned with the tallest of the surrounding fells. It was so windy that I barely had one photo taken.
Since I have no water-proof boots or pants, I got too cold to continue walking. I had no choice but taking double-deck tour buses to see views via window which was so steamy abd barely see via. The foliage was really pretty between Keswick and Ambleside, but I cannot take good photos via the window. I have to figure out a better way to handle the coming rainy days. I attached two photos at the beginning to show you what should look like on a sunny day.
Keswick is a thriving town of individual shops, including many selling outdoor equipment, art galleries, delis, cafes, restaurants and pubs. I cooked hot noodles soup with the ingredients bought from the supermarket near by.
