Auvers Sur Oise, a little village hosted famous painters

I took 1-hr metro train to visit Auvers-sur-Oise, a village nestling in the peaceful, picturesque Oise valley that inspired many famous artists, including Van Gogh, Cézanne, Corot and Daubigny. I got the treasure hunt map of sites in Van Gogh’s paintings from the local tourist office, and walked all the way to another train station to ride back to Paris. It was a lot of fun.

I then visited Jardin des Plantes botanical gardens (opposite Gare d'Austerlitz) to fill the gap, and also waited in line to get into the famous bookstore Shakespeare & Company.

I then attended the Overseas Taiwanese celebration party for Taiwanese National Day (10/10) at the de facto embassy behind musée d’Orsay. I enjoyed the reunion with my classmate, the food, and drinks ( top of the line whiskey such as Kamalan 卡馬䔵and Yusan 玉山and wine). I barely made my way back to the hostel with the help of two French young people which happened to switch train at Gate du Nord. What a fun last day in Paris before riding BlaBlaCar to Luxembourg tomorrow morning.
