1st day of Scottish Highland Tour

Due to limited public transport, I booked a commercial 4-day tour to Isle of Skye (an island of mist, one of the world’s most stunning islands) ~ 400£ (meals excluded) in the Scottish highland. The highland terrain is hilly, but only 400 meters high. “Highland” means country side.

On the first day of the tour, we stoped by an old steel bridge, a whiskey distillery, Lake Ness, the Caledonian Canal Center (to see some boats passing via the canal), and the Eilean Donan castle ob a small tidal island situated at the confluence of three sea lochs in the western Highlands of Scotland.

Loch Ness contains more water than all the lakes of England and Wales combined, making it the most voluminous lake in the UK. Tales of a large monster living deep beneath the dark expanses of Loch Ness have circulated the world since the first photograph emerged in 1933, but I didn’t see it.

The Isle of Skye is connected to Scotland's northwest coast by bridge, has rugged landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles. We stay in a B&B in Portree, a base for exploring the island, with harbourside pubs and boutiques.
