Sagres, Portugal
I woke up 6 am to catch the bus to Sagres, a small surfing town with limited bus services. It was very cold in the early morning then warm up yet very windy. I looked at surfers then visited the Fortaleza Sagres, designed to protect the town from raiders from North African. “It was from here that Henry the Navigator devised his 15th century expeditions to the uncharted seas around the western side of Africa, which heralded in the golden era of Portugal exploration.”
It got hot near noon time so I took a local bus to the Cape of St. Vincent. Europe's southwestern corner. I gave up the plan to walking back along the shore line since my sports sanders are wearing out by the rough surface and I am wearing out by the high temperature. I successfully hichhiked back to Sagres then bused back to Lagos. Lagos has more beautiful views yet too many tourists. Sagres is quiet but lack of transport.
I really dislike the hostel here so I am taking overnight buses to Tomar (via Lisbon). Hope I will stay awake and safe.
