Flights into Lisbon Portugal

I waited in UA club at IAD for my red eye flight into Lisbon, Portugal. The airport was almost as empty as I flew back on 3/17/2020 at the beginning of Covid. Maybe because today is 9/11? People show up closer to the flying time, l guess. The terminal became busy later.

I am waiting in Newark airport now which looks so different from years ago I transferred via. Much nicer than IAD and with a few cool shops.

I packed super light this time (only 6.6 kg/14.5 lb) by layering clothes and running shoes (instead of hiking boots). Since most hostels in west EU have keyless door entry and lockers, I skipped my pod lock. Feel so weightless!

Good news was I managed to get 3rd Pfizer shot and PCR test before flight, and plan a route to comply with different travel restrictions with minimum tests.

Some friends were very supportive to give me fruits (grapes, Asian pears, a pawpaw) and some Taiwanese snacks. One friend kindly offered to drop me at the airport so I didn’t take 2 buses as I usually did. So far very smooth, regardless extra preparation of travel rules tracking and tests.

I just need to break from my routine and travel internationally, and I expect it will be FUN. Shoot me a PM if you cross my route.
