Day 2 in Lake District

How lucky was I traveling 2nd day into  serious flood in the Lake District with 30cm (12in) of rain in a 24-hour period!

Some roads were so flooded that i waited for buses over 1.5 hrs, then jumped one bus to Grasmere to be as close to the hostel and then luckily hitchhiked back to my hostel in Keswick after several attempts to get a ride.

I did enjoy some relatively dry walk from Windermere to the pier (also severely flooded and ferries were suspended). Many cars were literally driven via 2 feet deep water, including my hitchhike ride.

I only learned later that Police advised people to travel only if necessary. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-59066324.amp
