2nd day of Scottish Highland Tour
2nd day of the Scottish Highland tour - we visited some of the most famous wonders of Skye: Quiraing, the Old Man of Storr, Neist Point, Kilt Rick and Mealtfalls viewpoint. We were blessed to visit the sights with bearable weather.
The Quirang is an area of dramatic rock towers and ridges. We hiked up the Storr, a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The hill presents a steep rocky eastern face overlooking the Sound of Raasay, contrasting with gentler grassy slopes to the west.
We saw from the Kilt Rock and Waterfall overlook a cliff that bears a resemblance to a kilt, complete with tartan-like pattern, and a small stream from Loch Mealt falling off the cliff into the sea.
Neist Point is one of the most famous lighthouses at the most westerly tip of Skye that is located on top of a stack of cliffs and offers wonderful views across the Minch over to the Outer Hebrides. We first walked up to the top again gusty winds, and then walked down on the concrete path to the lighthouse and an ocean view deck. From the path, I saw stunning views of the high cliffs and the ocean.
