Portugal -> Monaco -> France -> Luxembourg -> Belgium -> Netherlands -> UK -> Morocco

This was my 1st international trip after COVID. I thought EU would have universal COVID travel restrictions; however, its members have constitutionally changing and different rules for people visiting from different countries (EU or non-EU).  I have been monitoring the rules to modify my routes; nevertheless, it was a little challenging to comply with the different COVID travel restrictions among these countries, yet I dealed with one country at a time. I got the 3rd Pfizer shot before leaving USA,  booked a day 2 PCR test for UK, a pre-entry PCR test for Morocco , and a pre-entry PCR test in Morocco to enter USA.  The plan of wash off my USA label in Portugal/France for over 14 days, then getting into other EU countries that ban people entering from USA worked well.

I traveled during September - November, 2021 to Portugal -> Monaco -> France -> Luxembourg  ->  Belgium -> Netherlands -> UK -> Morocco, and back to USA safe and sound.  My trip highlights include (1) Sahara Desert camping (Morocco), (2) hiking up the Old Man of Storr in Scottish Highland, (3) Strolling in Bruges, Brussel a postcard perfect UNISCO site with histrionic charming houses encircled by canals and the city walls, (4) coastal walk Lagos, Portugal, (5) touring beautiful French castles, (6) visiting colleges associated with Sir Isaac Newton and Steven Hawking in Cambridge, UK, (7) running into British Got Talent host in London, (8) tracing Camino de Santiago pilgrim trail signs all over west Europe, and (9) being heavily touted but not scammed when traveling solo in Morocco. See details at https://jtwesteurope.blogspot.com/

It was cheaper to get  a west EU SIM card when arrive a EU country (I did in Portugal and France). However, remember to take out the SIM before turning on your phone in a non-EU country. I flew into Morocco and switched to a Moroccan SIM in the airport, and stopped using FREE MOBILE prepaid SIM card (French telecom company), and got charged $58 on my credit without my authorization. I spent time to communicate on FB via Google translation in order to file/mail a claim with FREE MOBILE, and finally got refund after 1.5 months.
